We had a wonderful morning welcoming kids back! Thank you to Coach Johnson for leading us in the pledge and our Student Council President, Erin Childs for introducing our new staff! The building looks amazing, thanks to hours of hard work from our custodial-maintenance crew! Here's to a great year!

As we return to school tomorrow, I felt it was fair to remind families of a couple handbook expectations that are often challenging for students as we transition back into routine. The link below will take you to our Student and Parent Handbook. Please review the dress code and personal device, or phone usage, guidelines. These parameters were adopted by our Board of Education in July and help establish consistency and maintain the capability to do what we're here to do, educate the young adults. Let's go Indians!
This year school menus will be located on the My School Menus app. The app can be downloaded on Android or Apple devices. Once downloaded, search for and select the Van Far School District. Then you will be able to select your specific school (High School or Elementary) from the drop down menu. You can view both breakfast and lunch menus. The app includes information on allergens and nutritional facts.
Money can be added to your child's meal account by accessing the Infinite Campus parent portal or by sending money to school with your child. For those sending money, please enclose it in an envelope with your child's name and grade.
Friday Night Lights starts tonight! Our kids will compete against Scotland County at 6:30 p.m., Monroe City at 7:00 p.m., and Mexico at 7:30 p.m. This is only a Jamboree, but our kids would love to see and hear support in the stands. Mark your calendars to be here next Friday night for our home opener when we host South Callaway!
Welcome our students and staff back to school with "Chalk the Walk!" We invite you to stop by the elementary school on August 21st to write or draw inviting messages on our sidewalks for the first day of school. What a fun way to welcome our school family to the 23-24 school year!

Today and tomorrow our staff are in training for Capturing Kids Hearts, a new process we're starting for our kids and staff. Thank you to FBC for the use of their facilities!

Your Kindergarten teachers will be out and about Sunday afternoon (August 13th) placing yard signs at your houses! Please pose with your yard sign, tag the school, and share with us on Facebook using the hashtag #classof2036! If you see us at your house, please say hello to us! 🚌📚✏️
If your kindergarten student has not registered yet, please do so as soon as possible. For those who have not completed the online registration, your yard sign can be picked up at Open House on August 17.
The Community Block Party is under way! Come out! There's still plenty of great deals and things to grab for free! Plus there's haircuts just blocks away! What an amazing community event!
