Our Lady Indians opened their season against a 2-0 team of Lady Thunderbirds. The girls put the bat to the ball but were unable to respond to North Callaway's competitive play. The Lady Indians fall to the Thunderbirds in Varsity play 16-1 and in JV play 15-1. Thanks to all who drove over to support them!

Today we honor some of our specials teachers! Mrs. Johnson also helps us in the library each day and Ms. Dunn helps us find our artistic talent, so we don't want to forget them! We had another great day and are extremely blessed to have these folks behind our kids pushing them to be better every day!

Good Morning, Van-Far Community! My phone was used on the lift last night, so I did not get any photos at the game. If you captured any moments at the game that you'd like to share, please do so in the comments! Thanks to all who came out to support the kids, despite the heat! We're proud of the successes they had and know they will only get more fun to watch as the season progresses! Make plans to join us next Friday night as we host Russellville. Our theme will be Red, White, and Blue night and we will be honoring all of our EMS staff, so please help us spread the word! Thank you for your help sharing photos from last night! Dr. Gibson

Our students were busy today with a variety of tasks, but they seem to love group work! Pictured are two different age groups and content areas working together to accomplish tasks. Mrs. Cross' students worked on organizing numbers according to the number system they belonged in. While Mr. Craven's class explored gravity, engineering, and architecture by using toothpicks and mini marshmallows to create their own structures, mimicking the roles of architects and engineers. It emphasized group communication, leadership dynamics, collaboration, innovation, and problem solving strategies! It was a great day of learning! #onetribe

Our home opener for football is tomorrow night! Due to excessive heat we have decided to push Kick-Off back to 8pm, gates will open at 7pm. Please note that our main bleacher area is currently under construction, but we do have temporary bleachers set up. Feel free to bring lawn chairs to sit or stand along the outside of the fence. All spectators are asked to park in the new parking lot between our two fields or at the elementary school. The kids who attended the Youth Football Camp on July 22nd will be announced and receive their team shirts at half time. We are excited for the season and ready to cheer on our Football Indians! Please join us for an evening under the lights!

Throughout this week students have synergized to build Social Contracts for their various classrooms based off of these four classrooms. 1. How do you want to be treated by me, the leader? 2. How do you want to be treated by each other? 3. How do you think I, the leader, want to be treated by you? 4. How do you want to treat each other when there is conflict? Pictured is an example of the list Miss Borgmeyer's 7th Grade Tribe Time Class created. This becomes the expectations for their classroom and because students helped write it, they have greater buy-in than if Miss Borgmeyer had simply created the expectations on her own. Great work Class of 2029 and Miss Borgmeyer!
