We are grateful to The Mexico Ledger to be able to partner with them to honor our Student Athletes of the Month. Coaches can nominate athletes for this honor and the students will be featured in the paper. This month's nominees are Junior Erin Childs and 7th Grader Kylee Gibson. Erin is the daughter of Kurt and Amy Childs and is involved in cheer, track, cross country, NHS, Student Council, FFA, FCA, and the A+ Program. Her motto is to "Love like Jesus". If given the opportunity to be the principal for the day, Erin said she would give everyone a study hall so no one would have to worry about homework after school. Erin was nominated by her cheer coach Angela Carlyle. Kylee is the daughter of Kyle and Vanessa Gibson and is involved in softball. Kylee's career goal is to become a pediatric nurse or missionary. If given the chance to be a principal for the day, she would allow us to leave school on Fridays at noon. Kylee was nominated by her softball coach Amber Chrisman. Thank you for representing us well ladies!

Our Lady Indians opened their season against a 2-0 team of Lady Thunderbirds. The girls put the bat to the ball but were unable to respond to North Callaway's competitive play. The Lady Indians fall to the Thunderbirds in Varsity play 16-1 and in JV play 15-1. Thanks to all who drove over to support them!
