Wednesday Announcements

To all students/guests attending project prom who are under the age of 18 YOU will need to sign Waiver forms from the YMCA.  These forms can be picked up on the office ledge.  THESE FORMS ARE DUE 4/26.  

Seniors and Senior Parents! This is a reminder that we are still missing pictures for the senior video for many of you. These pictures may be brought to the school or digital copies emailed to Mrs. McCurdy at bmccurdy@vf.k12.mo.us. Please send 5 pictures (suggested is 1 baby picture, 1 senior or current picture, and 3 others of your choice) by Thursday, April 14. If you don't send pictures, you will not be included in the senior video. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. McCurdy.

Reminder that the next Good Standing checkpoint ends on April 19th and impacts your ability to attend Prom.  All Prom guests who are not attending VFHS must be pre-approved by their administrator.  Guest forms are available in the office and need to be turned in by April 22nd. 

Information regarding the Donkey Basketball that will take place on Sunday, April 24 at 7:00 pm in the high school gym.  Advance tickets are on sale at the Elementary school office, the High School office and the United Credit Union and cost is $10 cash only - no checks accepted.  Tickets at the door are $12.  For more information contact a VFTA member.

Coins for Kisses -- During intermission of the Donkey basketball the winner of the Coins for Kisses will kiss a donkey.  Students are encouraged to bring change to school to place into a container of their choice.  The staff that are participating at the high school are Mr. Stuedle and Mr. Fortney.  There will be containers in front of the high school office.

VFTA Scholarships: If you've turned in an application for a VFTA scholarship, interviews will take place on Tuesday, April 24th and Wednesday, April 25th after school. The form to sign up for interview times is on the board across from the high school office. Please contact Mr. Stuedle or Mrs. Weiss with any questions.

Extra Track Tshirts for sale:  1-medium long sleeve, 1-large, long sleeve, 1- XL short sleeve and 1- 2XL short sleeve.  Long sleeve $17 and short sleeve $14.  See Mrs. Cross if you are interested. 

MACC will be holding an Open House on April 27 at their Mexico campus.  Tours for area high schools will be available from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and public tours from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  They will have a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:00 pm for their new Veterinary Technology course. 

Juniors & Seniors, there is a sign-up sheet outside of Mrs. Winders' room for prom.  Please sign up yourself and your guest.  You MUST be in good standing and your class dues/library dues must be paid.  You can see Mrs. Cross or Mrs. Jones about your dues if you have any questions. There is also a sign-up list for prom songs. 

All overdue library books need to be returned or paid for before attending prom. 

The Eastern Missouri Family YMCA is looking for someone to lead a Speed and Agility program for 3rd to 8th grade boys and girls during the month of June, preferably on Monday and Wednesday mornings.  Interested individuals please call (573-594-2208) or stop by the Y and ask for Debbie.  Deadline April 18th.

The YMCA will be holding a Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 30th  from 10 am to 2 pm.  Healthy Kids Day is a single day event celebrating youth development and is the kick-off to a healthy, happy summer for youth, families, and staff.

Jostens will be on campus on April 14th during the seniors' lunch shift to deliver any items ordered.  Orders must be paid for in full before you will receive any merchandise.
