Tuesday Announcements

Transportation change:  Beginning today, Tues. Nov. 9 students riding bus 8 will now ride 15 and students that ride bus 9 will ride on bus 2.

Any Junior or Senior wanting to take a dual credit class next semester from MACC needs to let Mrs. Utterback know what class you are wanting by Friday.   

Fall Fundraising Pick-up will be on Tuesday November 16th from 3:45-6:30 at the Ag Shop. 

Saturday Detention is this Saturday, November 13th from 8:00-11:00 a.m.  Doors will lock at 8:00 a.m. so make sure you show up a few minutes early and bring something to work on or read.  There are only so many dates available, so if you owe attendance time already, it would be a good idea to get some of your time made up this weekend. Sign up is on the bulletin board across from the office.

Congratulations to our Students of the Quarter for 1st Quarter:  Garrett Hopke, Easton Sharp, Zach Cagle, Jesse Kaufman, Madelynn Caldwell, Skyler Penley.  We will do a group picture on Wednesday morning at 7:55.  Congratulations to our Staff Selection for the Quarter:  Ms. Winders! Great job everyone!!

The next FBLA meeting will be held on November 17 at 7:15am in Mrs. McCurdy's room. We will be discussing fundraising, an activity, and district competition. See Mrs. McCurdy or Tia Gaston with any questions.

Due to delivery issues, there will not be a concession stand at Monday's basketball game.  The vending machines across from the high school office will be open.

Jostens will deliver class rings during lunch on November 11th.  The full balance must be paid prior to receiving your ring. 

WINTER FORMAL:  December 4 from 7:00-10:00 PM at the Catholic hall.  If you are bringing an out-of-district guest please get a form from Mr. Rost.

NJHS will be doing a food drive. The boxes to collect the food will be up by the office. It will start November 4th and continue until November 19th. NJHS decided to do a competition between each class. There will be a box for 7th grade, 8th grade, Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Seniors. Bring canned goods and place them in the correct box. The winning class will get $20.  

2021 Turkey Trot will be held at 7:30am at the YMCA on Thanksgiving Day.  $25 registration includes a t-shirt. Last day to sign up to guarantee a long sleeve t-shirt is Friday, November 5th.  Registration will be accepted through 7:15am on the morning of the event.   

3rd Annual Diaper Drive to benefit local families is being held November 1 - 30th at the YMCA.  Donations of diapers size 1-5, diaper rash cream, and baby wipes are being collected inside the Y.  All donations are greatly appreciated and will be distributed to Van-Far Parents as Teachers, First Baptist Food Pantry and CMCA Early Head Start.  

We will be having a Veterans Day assembly on Thursday, November 11th at 9AM.  At the end of 1st period, please instruct the students to come to the gym.  The students and staff will sit on the bleachers.  I am expecting the assembly to be done during 2nd period.  Please join us as we honor our veterans on this special day.   If you have any questions, please email Ms. Winders. 

HS Band and Choir will be selling Cookies, Coffees and Candles From Nov 2nd-12th. If you are interested, please talk to Ms. Rossmiller or a music student. Order forms and money are due back by Tuesday, Nov. 15.

This next checkpoint from October 27th until November 30th impacts your ability to attend Winter Formal on December 4th.  If you are on the watchlist or out of good standing, please keep that in mind if you are wanting to attend.  

Students in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade who would like to take the district paid ACT please sign up on the bulletin board across from the front office by Friday, November 19th. The ACT will be given on Tuesday, March 8th in the gym. Reminder: If you have already taken the district paid ACT once, you cannot take it again. 

NHS seniors - NHS offers 600 scholarships for a total of 2 million dollars to active members of their NHS chapter.  The deadline is December 1, 2021.  See Mrs. Winders for more details.

The Senior Class dues for the year be $20. Please have dues in on/by December 1.   Mrs. McCurdy has a secure box to drop these off at your convenience, (box located in her business room).
