The Van-Far FFA would like to congratulate the Van-Far FFA Meats Team on their successful National Meats Evaluation and Technology CDE Competition at the 94th National FFA Convention and Expo. The Van-Far FFA Meats Team consisting of Ennis Childs, Cayden Caldwell, Devyn Keller, and Hunter Scrogin received a Gold Emblem rating and 9th place overall in the nation. Individually, Cayden Caldwell received a gold rating (placing in the top 33% of participants) and Devyn Keller and Hunter Scrogin received a silver rating. Ennis Childs was recognized as the 2021 National Top Participant overall for the contest. Way to represent the Van-Far FFA and the State of Missouri Ennis! This is an amazing accomplishment, and the entire chapter is so proud of the hard work and dedication that these four members have put in over the last 10 months. The team would like to thank everyone that has supported them and provided encouragement along the way.

Ladies- There is a large pile of clothes that has been left on the locker room floor for weeks that will be cleaned out and donated on Friday. Please take what is yours this week and make sure your items get put away each night or it may end up in the donation pile.
STUCO will meet this Thursday morning @ 7:15 in Mr. Rost's room to make final preparations for the winter formal.
This next checkpoint from October 27th until November 30th impacts your ability to attend Winter Formal on December 4th. If you are on the watchlist or out of good standing, please keep that in mind if you are wanting to attend.
Students in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade who would like to take the district paid ACT please sign up on the bulletin board across from the front office by Friday, November 19th. The ACT will be given on Tuesday, March 8th in the gym. Reminder: If you have already taken the district paid ACT once, you cannot take it again.
NHS is sponsoring a Veteran's Day assembly on Thursday November 11th at 9 am in the gym for our local veterans, staff, and all students grades 7 - 12. Students, if you have veterans in your family, please invite them to attend. This assembly is our way of showing appreciation to our veterans. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Winders.
NHS seniors - NHS offers 600 scholarships for a total of 2 million dollars to active members of their NHS chapter. The deadline is December 1, 2021. See Mrs. Winders for more details.
National Junior Honor Society will be doing a fundraiser, Pumpkins for Patients- St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. For $1, you can purchase a paper pumpkin from a NJHS member. The pumpkins will be on display on the wall. Let us see if we can have the pumpkins go around the whole school.
The Senior Class dues for the year be $20. Please have dues in on/by December 1. Mrs. McCurdy has a secure box to drop these off at your convenience, (box located in her business room).
