Wednesday Announcements

You may wear your Halloween costumes on Friday as long as they are school appropriate, no masks, and no hoods. 

Reminder to all as we start 2nd quarter it is a cell phone violation to carry them with you throughout the school day and your water bottles should be clear with a solid top. 

There will be a mandatory basketball meeting at 7:30 AM in the gym Friday morning for any boy planning on playing varsity/JV basketball this season.  Practice starts Monday night at 5:45 PM.  

Any high school girl interested in playing basketball this year, there will be a meeting in Mr. Elledge's room tomorrow morning at 7:35 AM. 

Seniors – Reminder that Shakespeare’s pizza pick up will be Monday, November 1 at 4:00 pm in the high school parking lot.

Saturday Detention will be next Saturday, October 30th from 8:00 -11:00 a.m.  Doors will lock at 8:00 a.m. so you will need to be here a few minutes early and bring something to work on.  Sign up is across from the office on the bulletin board.  There are only so many Saturdays available to make up attendance so if you already owe time, it is best you start making them up early so you do not run out of opportunities and lose credit.

Students in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade who would like to take the district paid ACT please sign up on the bulletin board across from the front office by Friday, November 19th. The ACT will be given on Tuesday, March 8th in the gym. Reminder: If you have already taken the district paid ACT once, you cannot take it again.

NHS is sponsoring a Veteran's Day assembly on Thursday November 11th at 9 am in the gym for our local veterans, staff, and all students grades 7 - 12.  Students, if you have veterans in your family, please invite them to attend.   This assembly is our way of showing appreciation to our veterans.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Winders.

NHS seniors - NHS offers 600 scholarships for a total of 2 million dollars to active members of their NHS chapter.  The deadline is December 1, 2021.  See Mrs. Winders for more details.

National Junior Honor Society will be doing a fundraiser, Pumpkins for Patients- St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. For $1, you can purchase a paper pumpkin from a NJHS member. The pumpkins will be on display on the wall. Let us see if we can have the pumpkins go around the whole school.

The Senior Class dues for the year be $20. Please have dues in on/by December 1.   Mrs. McCurdy has a secure box to drop these off at your convenience, (box located in her business room). 

FRESHMEN CLASS: Your class dues have been set at $20. Please make sure to give those dues to Mrs. Weiss, Ms. Fowler, Mr. Stein, or Mr. Foster by the beginning of October. Prices will jump by $5 or $10 at that time. If you are unable to pay that amount, please talk with one of your sponsors.
